TUESDAY TEST DRIVE: A HINT OF TINT

This week we tested tinted moisturizers

We have long preferred tinted moisturizers to heavier foundations, and with Spring looming just around the corner, we thought it was the perfect time to start testing out a new, lighter formula for the season.

Physician’s Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Tinted Moisturizer, $18:

This drugstore find touts lots of benefits, including being certified organic by EcoCert, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and it packs an SPF 15. The formula was thinner than the rest and definitely more sheer. It felt great but also appeared the shiniest on our skin. Great if you’re going for the “I-swear-I’m-not-wearing-makeup” dewy look. Available across Canada at Shoppers Drug Mart and Murale.
Smashbox Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15, $35:  This one has a light yet substantial-feeling texture and made us feel like we were getting an extra dose of hydration plus the perfect amount of colour. The extra coverage makes it ideal for a night-on-the town pick. Available across Canada at Shoppers Drug Mart, Murale, Sephora.
Lancôme Bienfait Multi-Vital Teinte, $58: You might get more bang for your buck than you thought with this one, since a little goes a long way. The colour is more potent than the rest so getting the right shade (we found it ran a little dark) is crucial and you only need a pea-sized amount. The coverage lasted all day and the SPF 30 is a huge plus.  Available across Canada at Lancôme counters.
