ECO CHIC Isn’t it about time Torontonians caught up with our West Coast neighbours on the green stance? If you’ve switched your bulbs and mastered the art of composting, here are more ways to add a little green to your life this summer. And don’t miss FLARE’s June issue for 44 ways to live green in style.

GREEN FASHION Visiting the popular Kensington Market boutique Heart on Your Sleeve proves that being eco-conscious and fashionable go hand-in-hand. Located at 61a Bellevue Ave, the store boasts items independently designed and made in Canada by sustainable methods (meaning, everything is people, animal and environmentally-friendly).

GREEN BEAUTY We already love Stella McCartney for her modern take on fashion, but when we first heard she was launching an organic skincare line, called Care, our loyalty deepened. Featuring products that are gentle on the skin and the environment, we especially took a liking to the Toning Floral Water which contains extracts of green tea and linden blossom to soothe and tighten. Available at Sephora.

Buff away dry skin with the powerful properties of “The Ball” by Tawaka. Inspired by a 1,000 year-old beauty ritual from the Tawaka villages of Central America, the body polisher is made from wildcrafted ingredients rich in Omega-3, 6 and 9 and loaded with antioxidants. Our skin was left feeling smooth as satin with no greasy residue. Available at Sephora.

GREEN EATS If you think green eats means a dinner shot of wheatgrass, think again. Inside Cowbell—owners Mark Cutrara and Karin Culliton take pride in their chalkboard menu that changes daily to reflect the availability and freshness of organic meats and produce sourced from local farmers. Sink your teeth into a Cowbell burger and say amen to finger-lickin’ local fare. 1564 Queen Street, West.

GREEN FUN This month, trade in afternoon tea for a little tee time on the green at Links For Women. Designed exclusively for women, LFW features one-day teaching and playing clinics so you can get schooled on the green with the girls (plus it’s the perfect excuse to break out your Lacoste mini). Click here for a tee off schedule and to register.

Win two tickets to the Rogers Picnic on Sunday, July 20 in Toronto! You and a friend will receive roundtrip airfare to Toronto, two nights in a hotel and $500 spending money. Not to mention—you’ll be listening to amazing music on the green, including Cat Power, City and Colour and the Tokyo Police Club. Enter here
