Colour made a splash in venues both expected and less so. Sgt. Pepper brights, vividly coloured acids and an electrifying show of jewel tones were refreshingly atypical of spring’s usual pale palette. At the other end of the spectrum, we saw more subdued neutral tones of nude and khaki, standard shades of grey or clear-cut black and white, as well as enough pastels to satisfy ladies who lunch.
Must-have: Yellow, the cheeriest of all the primaries. There was barely a runway where this chick didn’t peep up.
Wear it now: Pair a billowy dress with a cashmere sweater and bright tights. Habutai dress, approximately $335, DKNY. Cashmere-blend sweater, $130, Banana Republic. Necklace, Carole Tanenbaum Vintage Collection; rope (through necklace, worn throughout), Europe Bound; hose (thoughout), Craze by Secret; shoes, Louis Vuitton.
