Peter Phillips, Creative Director of Chanel cosmetics, is known for crafting surefire sell-out shades of lacquer. Taking inspiration from famed filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock, the luxury brand has a line-up of three new hues for fall, with each shade being named after a film. Vertigo is an almost grey-black, with a “heart of red pearly particles that reveal themselves according to the light.” Suspicion is an ultra-femme glossy fuchsia, while Frenzy is a slightly paler incarnation of the lilac-grey lacquers that have been everywhere the past few seasons.
Other standouts? If you’re looking to try this season’s vampy lip, the new Rouge Coco lipstick in Caractère is dark enough to make an impact, but subtle enough for everyday wear. Dread bidding adieu to your summer glow every September? Enter the brand’s new Lumière d’Artifices, a golden highlighter that will prolong your sun-kissed state even as temperatures drop.
Chanel’s fall collection will be available at the brand’s beauty counters on August 27th.
