Congratulations to our April cover girl, Diane Kruger, who has been named the face of the Chanel’s latest beauty campaign to be unveiled this year. Definitely no stranger to the French house, Kruger fronted their ALLURE fragrance campaign in 1996 and the Paris-Biarritz bag campaign in 2007 (shot by Karl Lagerfeld). She’s also often photographed in the label and is vocal about her long-standing friendship with Lagerfeld, creative director and head designer. Kruger joins Gisele Bundchen, who was also announced as a spokesmodel for Chanel beauty in February of this year.

To announce the partnership, Chanel released a photo of Kruger in a fit-and-flare powder blue dress and black newsboy cap with a loose ponytail, minimal makeup and red statement lips. Whether the casual ensemble provides a hint to the future campaign is unclear, we’ll just have to wait and see what Lagerfeld and Kruger cook up for Chanel in 2013.
