Toronto’s Parlour salon (on the trendy Ossington strip) is celebrating their one year anniversary and tremendous success (they’ve reportedly doubled their staff, quadrupled revenue and entertained celebs such as Adam Lambert) by launching a fundraiser for Matter of Trust. The non-profit organization produces hair mats and “booms” made out of hair stuffed pantyhose that soak up oil and repel water for use in oil spills. You can help the cause (especially in light of the current, massive oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico) by bringing in a pair of old nylons and donate your hair clippings at your next appointment at the salon.
