Out with your man and his boys?
Here’s how to deal do so you don’t feel like a tag-along

Breathe deep
Try not to let his macho speak and his cave-like behaviours drive you crazy. This alter ego may have you spinning, but don’t fret: he’s just trying to keep up with the boys. Ignore it. He’ll be back to his sensitive self by dawn.

Join in
Not up to speed on all things man? While they’re having guy talk, don’t sit on the sidelines. Ask questions, show interest, and join in. Guys love showing off, so they’ll especially love filling you in and teaching you something new. (Humour them.)

Take some solo time
Too much testosterone? Skip out for a bit. Indulge yourself with some me time and escape the land of man. But beware of befriending the nearest girl—she may be torture to talk to, and then you’re back to square one.

Plan for next time
Alright, it’s not that bad to be out with the boys. But do you really want it to be a regular occurrence? The next time a gathering’s on the agenda, find out who’s going to be there and what the plans are. Can you stick it out? If not, make alternate arrangements or invite one of your girls along.
