Designer Caroline Herrera told hair stylist Orlando Pita that she wanted voluminous hair, and boy, did he deliver. “Anytime you do big volume, it’s a little reminiscent of the ’60s but I wanted to keep it young and fresh, so we added the headband and made the ends straight and not too set,” he explains.
While blow drying, Pita used Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong and a round brush to lift roots. Next, he straightened the tips with a flatiron, then put the headband around the model’s neck so that he could slide it on later without disrupting volume. Starting at the nape of the neck and working towards the front, he backcombed sections with a boar-bristled brush and more hairspray to build OTT volume. He finished by sliding the headband on and smoothing the surface of hair with light brushing.
