If you’re like us, you’ve been slathering your face in Glossier prods non-stop since the NYC-based brand finally started shipping to Canada earlier this summer. And as of 9 a.m. today, there are two brand new launches that’ll let you give that Glossier love to the rest of your bod.
The two products are the Daily Oil Wash ($22) and the Daily Perfecting Cream ($27), and together they’re called the Body Hero Duo. Both were inspired by oil cleansers and lotions you use on your face and, according to Glossier founder Emily Weiss, the scent was inspired by French babies.
“They smell like heaven. The orange neroli blend [the fragrance in both] was inspired by chic French baby products,” Weiss told us when she visited the Glossier pop up shop in Toronto, where you can pick up the Body Hero Duo starting at noon today until it shuts down (tear) on September 14. Thanks to that pop up, which has rarely been without a line since it opened last week, Canada is one of the first places you can snag the newest Glossier products.
The Oil and the Cream are both part of the brand’s third phase of product launches, focused on body. Phase one was skincare and phase two was makeup. With this new phase and Glossier’s first foray into body, Weiss wanted to reinvent classic shower gel and cream and create “above-the-sink” products—hardworking formulas you’ll reach for everyday.
The Daily Oil Wash, with a grand total of seven oils (coconut, meadowfoam seed, olive, soybean, sesame, grapeseed and sunflower seed), smoothes and brightens skin without breaking down its natural moisture barrier. The Daily Perfecting Cream, with an antioxidant-rich desert plant blend, a fruit extract complex and light-reflecting particles, exfoliates and leaves behind a subtle glow.
And as with all Glossier products, the Duo’s name has meaning. “We wanted to come up with an overarching theme for body that would encourage positivity and fun,” said Weiss. “We think every body is great and everyone can be her own body hero. There isn’t one ideal body type and there isn’t one ideal body hero.”
The campaign for the Body Hero Duo features five real women, nude, with red censor bars emblazoned with Body Hero covering their lady parts. Each purchase of the newest Glossier launches comes with your very own Body Hero sticker that you can slap on your mirror, strategically position yourself in front of and snap your own Body Hero nude selfie. We’re pretty sure that will spark a hashtag.
