The 2012 Olympic Games, to be held in London this July and August, are already a topic of conversation in the fashion world with uniforms designed by Stella McCartney (Great Britain) and Ralph Lauren (U.S.A.). Now joining the group, Make Up For Ever (MUFE) Canada has announced a collaboration with the Canadian synchro team.
With the support of MUFE, Synchro Canada will have an advantage, as synchronized swimming is one sport where make up certainly isn’t frivolous. Marks for artistic impression are worth 50 percent of the overall score, so colour and design must be carefully considered.
For the upcoming competitions, MUFE will design four custom make-up looks for the swimmers, which will be inspired by the music and the strands of colour in the bathing suits. They will also educate the women on proper application and provide all of the professional waterproof products. Likely to be among the batch of make-up goodies are the brand’s new Aqua Shadows, a collection of waterproof eye shadow sticks, $23 each, that will be promoted with the help of the Olympic team. The shadows come in a range of dark matte shades and pale pastels and will launch in May — just in time for beach season.
