This year marks the 40th anniversary of Canadian cosmetics company Lise Watier, which was founded by its namesake, a former television host and philanthropist, in 1972.

At a recent wine tasting, the company fêted their “Millésime,” or “special vintage,” collection, which celebrates the 40-year milestone with an array of rich plum, navy, bronze and burgundy products. The line also takes a cue from the fall 2012 runways, where dark, smoky hues were prominent and burgundy lips were a staple.

We have a few favourites amongst the collection’s many pretty items, such as the eyeshadow quartets—a purple-centric Les Vins and a bronze Les Cognacs—with their gorgeously blend-able powdery-cream texture. To match each quartet, the new Duo Shadow & Glitter shades (Plum Star and Brown Amber) offer intense sparkle with great staying power. The cream blush sticks, Sauvignon and Cabernet, burgundy lipstick and navy kajal pencil for accentuating the waterline and bringing out the whites of the eyes are a few more items worth a look when the collection hits stores at the end of July.
