Katy Perry has signed with beauty products manufacturer Coty to help the pop singer continue to develop her line of fragrances, the company announced Wednesday.
“We are thrilled to have an artist as creative and talented as Katy Perry join us at Coty,” said Renato Semerari, president of Coty. “Katy is original and daring—her unique approach to music and life will serve as the inspiration behind her innovative new scents and allow us to explore new avenues of scent creation.”
As part of the agreement, Coty will also distribute Purr and Meow!, Perry’s other scents, which were quietly released in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
“Purr and Meow! previously launched practically unnoticed amidst a cluster of celebrity scents,” shared Carlene Higgins, FLARE’s Beauty Director. “Expect her next one to hit shelves with a Gaga-like roar now that Coty is behind it.”
The “Teenage Dream” singer seems to have went through quite a style change this past year. After her divorce from British comedian Russell Brand late in 2011, fans have watched her cotton candy-hued tresses turn into a more dark, mature look with her own red carpet wardrobe following suit. Perry looked stunning in a Naeem Khan dress complete with cape at the Unicef Snowflake Ball on Tuesday night.
Will Perry’s style change contribute to a possibly more sophisticated new fragrance? Only time will tell.
