It’s been seven years since her high-profile divorce, and we’re thrilled that Jennifer Aniston has decided to settle down with newly-minted fiancé, Justin Theroux. It’s about time that the 43-year-old actress socks it to Brangelina — by broadcasting her show-stopping beauty in a designer wedding gown and swoon-worthy hairstyle, of course.
As befits her star status, the online world is already buzzing with ideas about dress silhouettes and designers for the big day. For her wedding to Brad Pitt in 2000, Aniston chose a beaded silk and satin halter by Lawrence Steele with a Swarovski crown and veil — and she looked stunning. This time around, Reem Acra has sketched two hypothetical options for the actress, exclusive to People: a strapless ball gown with many a ruffle, and a form-fitting mermaid style with sheer cape.
In our opinion, Aniston’s simple, carefree style would be far better suited to a less fussy silhouette. The chances of her being caught dead in a ball gown are slim to none, and while we can imagine a strapless flared dress on the actress, a cape seems too high fashion. After all, we’re talking about a woman who rarely wears more jewellery than a ring and earrings and can almost always be seen in some variation of white, black or tan.
Instead, we’d pick a dress in a structured fabric — perhaps a long version of the white sheath she wore to a photo call for The Bounty Hunter in 2010 — which would perfectly show off her fab figure. The detailing on Aniston’s Valentino frock from the London premiere of Horrible Bosses was feminine without being frilly, and would make a simple gown wedding worthy. We’d also love to see her in an off-the-shoulder neckline to reveal her toned arms and shoulders, with a slight flare from her knees into a train.
The actress will almost certainly wear her hair down for the event, but we hope she’ll try a few loose curls, her hair pulled off her face and a jewelled hair accessory slipped in at the back or side — nothing too precious or perfect, but something a little softer than her go-to beachy waves.
