Review: ImPRESS Press-On Manicure
By Claudia Steven

One of the perks of interning at Flare is the beauty drawer. Sometimes we get to test-drive products and last week, the incoming box of ImPRESS Press-on Manicure nails couldn’t have come at a better time. We received an overflowing bag of nail sets to choose from, and the options seemed endless. Forget the old standard French sets, these ones were painted like I would want them to be – dark and sometimes decorated. The set I chose to try were painted a very luxe, dark blue glitter. They took no time to grow on me.
Applying the nails was a low-maintenance process – no clipping or filing necessary. I did, however, find that they only stayed sticky for one full day, but I think that’s a sufficient amount of time anyway. I think these are a really good solution for when I’m way too rushed to paint my own nails before going somewhere that demands a polished appearance.
Review: Kiss Gel Polish Strips
By Sabina Sohail

Once upon a time, I used to be a nail biter. Then I started to realize how gross that is, and also how gross my nails had become after years of mistreatment. Now I maintain my nails like a cat maintains its fur. I have buckets upon buckets of strengthening formulas and nail treatment polishes, and no shame about that whatsoever.
Last week we were given a sampling of new gel polish strips by Kiss, and I was down for testing them out. I picked out this beautiful set called “Space” which reminded me of Britney Spears’ in her “Toxic” music video. I have a not-so-secret obsession with sparkles.
Bad news: I found the application process to be a little long. I could have painted my nails in the same amount of time if I’d just used normal nail polish. It took me about 35 minutes to buff, apply, file and top-gel my finger nails. Also, filing off the excess sticker wasn’t the best experience – I could feel the uneven tip all day at work, and that was fairly annoying.
The best part of Kiss Gel Polish Solution is that they peel off easily.
