The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute houses over 35,000 costume pieces and accessories in the heart of Manhattan. Every year its gala to celebrate a curated exhibit (this year, the much publicized PUNK: From Chaos to Couture) draws fashion's elite—actresses, models, singers and designers—in their most extravagantly bedazzled get-ups.
