Summer weather, while most welcome, can bring hair-flattening humidity, drying heat and colour-fading rays. Here, we fix five summer hair issues with inspiration from the celebs whose always have great hair days.
Conundrum: Dishwater drab
Fix: Quench, lightly
If your mahogany locks look like they’ve been collecting dust, resist pouring on heavy serums, warns Toronto-based editorial hairstylist Tony Masciangelo, who’s worked with supermodels Coco Rocha and Jessica Stam. “Too much product coats hair and absorbs—not reflects—light,” he adds. Instead, heal your hair. Start with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner that contain argan oil or shea butter, both rich in vitamin E. Next, seal cuticles with a lightweight styling cream before you blow-dry, since ragged cuticles can make hair look dirty (even when it’s not).
