Her family tree is filled with legends, but the 28-year-old model, street-style whiz and indie-film actress has her own branch of cool. Next up: repping Chloé’s latest scent, a cherry blossom descendant of another classic
Chloé Fleur de Parfum Reminds Me Of…
the time I was 17, and I was going to get a Japanese cherry blossom tattoo on my back. Luckily, I didn’t, but it’s still one of my favourite trees.
What kind of reaction does it elicit?
Yesterday, my cab driver was like, “You smell beautiful.” He also told me I looked like Brooke Shields and should be a model.
Your biggest beauty indulgence?
Massage. One of the best I’ve ever had was in India; it was Ayurvedic, with two women on each side of me!
What beauty tips have you learned from your mom, Mariel Hemingway?
I enjoy rummaging through her bathroom drawer to see what organic skincare products she has. They’re all very obscure and from farmers’ markets.
What advice did you give your little sister, Langley Fox, when she started modelling?
Sometimes you have to say no to things and just wait for the right time.
Who has influenced your style most?
My aunt Margaux [the late model]. She grew up in Idaho as well, so she had a country feeling.
My style motto is…
less is more. I don’t like clothing that has too much going on.
If you could swap closets with anyone, who would it be?
Cher’s wardrobe was pretty damn amazing back in the day. I like her more casual style—her jeans and T-shirts. Maybe I just want her hair. Can I have her hair?
The best thing I’ve bought lately is…
vintage white flared jeans from Japan. They zip up in front, and I love them more than anything.
What’s your favourite item in your closet?
I don’t have one. My house could be on fire and I would leave everything happily.
