Change is in the air at FLARE , and not just with our annual anticipation of fall’s fabulous new knits, coats, shoes and bags. You’ll notice it from our cover right through to our final page, from typeface changes that make FLARE easier to read, to new pages packed with fresh ideas on how to make the latest trends work for you.

I approached our new look similar to my seasonal wardrobe overhaul. While FLARE’s mandate hasn’t altered—you can still count on us to bring you the latest fashion, beauty and pop-culture news—it was time to shake things up. Every page in our “closet” was scrutinized. We found new ways to spin our favourites, tossed what wasn’t working and added plenty of exciting ideas to fine-tune our look.

A great wardrobe is built on a foundation of timeless pieces that look chic year-round. The little black dresses in FLARE are our how-to fashion pages, now freshened up in our new Flare Finds section, starting on page 161. This month, we’ve packed it with the essential pieces that every trendsetter will want to wear—at prices that won’t blow your budget. Our up-front fashion-trend pages, starting on page 47, and Last Call, on page 280, are like the seasonal to-die-for accessories that give your look up-to-the-minute cool. And because a fabulous outfit falls flat without thought to hair and makeup, we filled our beauty pages with even more brilliant new products and how-to tips from the world’s most influential pros.

If you’re planning a change this fall—whether it’s a small tweak or a daring life move—I’d love to hear about it at
