Yves Rocher is turning the big five-oh this year. To celebrate its golden anniversary, the botanical beauty brand has committed to planting 50 million trees over the next five years. The announcement comes right on time, considering that 2010 is the United Nations Environment Programme’s International Year of Biodiversity.
Countries around the globe, including Haiti, India and Ethiopia, will get greener thanks to the French company’s efforts. To help make it happen, sales of some top-selling Yves Rocher products, like the new Culture Bio body-pampering line, will contribute to the planet-saving cause. Bonus: As of June 1, fans in Edmonton can shop at the eco-friendly brand’s new concept store, inspired by an artisanal workshop: the Atelier of Botanical Beauty—the first of its kind in North America.
