WWD reports that Oscar de la Renta may be following in the footsteps of fellow luxe brand Burberry, and launching a new beauty line with the help of a private equity investor. De la Renta recently recovered their beauty license in December, which was formerly held by L’Oréal. The rumoured investor will apparently focus in on de la Renta’s fragrance business (the original Oscar is still one of the top 100 women’s fragrances in the U.S.) but also plans to expand into cosmetics and skin care. Follow FLARE backstage on Twitter at Oscar de la Renta’s Fall show, where Revlon’s beauty guru Gucci Westman will be creating the custom look.
