VALENTINO R.E.D. This youth inspired line offers couture detailing such as chiffon, bows, velvet and lace that can be mixed with denim and T-shirts to create looks that are original and unmistakably Valentino. DINING WITH THE STARS Celebrities and their admirers dine at Ketchup and Dolce in LA, while stargazers still melt at the site of Paris at Butter in NYC. So while the Calgary International Film Festival is on, the glitterati are sure to descend upon Olives, the latest and chicest dining spot created by the Hotel Arts Group. This multi-million dollar Italian eatery was certainly not built in a day; the Venetian tile mosaics and floor to ceiling tiled bathrooms are key signs that this contemporary spot is intended for movers and shakers. While we’re on the lookout for the famed and fabulous savour some innovative Italian cuisine created by executive chef and local celeb Jonathan Canning.

PERFECT LIGHTING If your idea for red carpet is possibly laying it out wall-to-wall, then you may want to check with some design experts first. The Calgary Home and Interior Design Show returns with a bevy of design stars that are armed with fresh ideas to spruce up our living spaces. Design talents such as HGTV’s Wendy Russell and Kelly Deck share the spotlight with local powerhouses Alykhan Velji and Rosalyn Lazaruck (Edmonton) for a weekend of home décor 101. Beyond their informative presentations, be sure to catch Smyth and Kang’s Fashion Passion show, where we can witness the relations between fashion and interior trends.
