L’Oréal and UNESCO hand out the hardware


L’Oréal and UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) awarded five female scientists for their accomplishments in life sciences during their 12th annual For Women in Science awards ceremony. American scientist Elaine Fuchs was chosen as the North American laureate for her contribution to the understanding of skin biology and skin stem cells. Two previous Women in Science winners have gone on to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Who says real science doesn’t go into your fancy sounding skincare?
