I’m a sunscreen obsessive. But over the years, I’ve tried some real duds—like the sticky goop that left a chalky imprint all over a leather purse, or the popular lotion that turned a charming shade of neon yellow on my face after a long run, or the creams that served as preludes to a breakout.
So I can understand why some people hate the feel of sunscreen, even though (beauty editor’s hat on) you really should be wearing it daily. Thankfully, formulas have gotten much, much more sophisticated. Most recently, I was happily surprised when I checked out the new L’Oréal Paris Sublime Sun Silky Sheer SPF 30 Mousse. Once I applied the airy whip, it quickly dried down to a “feels like nothing” texture. It didn’t have a heavy scent or whitish cast, and didn’t clog pores when I used it on my face. Sunscreen skeptics, give it a go.
