Beauty Review: Chanel Correcteur Perfection Concealer

Like shoes and wine, when it comes to concealer, I have a terrible habit of falling in love with the most expensive ones. But given that one’s face is on display all day every day, flawless—or at least faux-flawless—skin is priceless in my opinion. For the record, I keep things balanced with my love for drugstore mascara.

I carry my Chanel Correcteur Perfection Concealer everywhere I go, dutifully moving it from purse to gym bag to evening clutch. Though I used to prefer stick formats—their thicker consistency really gets the job done when it comes to hiding bumpy blemishes—this cream is so pigmented that it works as well on my adult acne as it does on my under-eyes (where you usually want a lighter liquid so it won’t sink into fine lines). After dotting it on with the wand applicator, it’s easy to blend using just my fingers.

On good days, I can make do with a bit of spot-concealing and skip foundation altogether. The cherry on top? The sleek and chic packaging—it’s Chanel after all—gives it the same luxe appeal as some of my favourite lip glosses. And for the frugal-minded (who isn’t?), I admit that when my tube runs low, I cut out the stopper to use every last drop.
