After a Spring 2013 couture season of utterly feminine makeup at the likes of Valentino, Elie Saab, Giambattista Valli and Alexis Mabille, we’ll easily be coveting softly shimmering skin, rose lips and blushing cheeks for the rest of the year. To get the right effect, start with a flawless canvas and add a silver or rose gold lid along with minimal eyeliner and mascara. A fresh pink blush on the apples of the cheeks and a dab of gloss add girlish lushness. Pixi’s summer palette has the perfect shades to get the look:

Pixi Face Palette

Pixi Glow Fairy Face Palette, $34, at Target.

Though this palette is obviously aimed at teens and young women (from its plastic casing to all-in-one capabilities and Tinkerbell artwork), it’s actually the perfect kit for anyone (including the 25+ crowd) to get a fresh, glowy face—plus, it makes us squeal in delight at the range of pretty colours. The five shadows can create a shimmering fairy princess eye in hues from rose gold to light copper and deep bronze, while the iridescent blush adds a pop of colour that reflects the light, making skin appear healthy and lit from within. Swipe a little berry hued gloss on your lips to complete the look.

Pixi Eyeliner

Pixi Glow Straight on till Morning Liner, $14, at Target.

Black eyeliner can appear harsh with such a feminine face, but this moss green gel liner with flecks of gold accentuates the eye while maintaining a soft, flirtatious appeal. It won’t budge after it dries, so you’ll need to clean your lids with waterproof makeup remover before bed.
