Anne Hathaway has always had a quiet grace to rival the likes of the legendary Audrey Hepburn, but since she chopped off her long locks to play Fantine in the upcoming film adaptation of Les Misérables, their physical resemblance has become impossible to miss. At her recent appearances to promote The Dark Knight Rises, Hathaway has accentuated her fair skin and svelte figure with Hepburn-eque black dresses and minimal accessories: a pair of plain black sunglasses, gold studs, or a slim gold chain.

Her makeup, too, veers toward the classic elegance of the one-time Holly Golightly. Lashes are full and curled; cheeks have a faint pink flush; and brows are dark and defined. Her soft brown hair and short fringe are also a dead ringer for the sprightly actress.

To get the makeup look, prep skin with a mattifying primer before applying foundation and concealer. Dust blush onto apples of cheeks and shape brows with a brown powder, brushing them out to blend. Curl lashes and coat with several swipes of black mascara. Finish with a dab of lipstick a shade brighter than your natural colour and voila: Hepburn/Hathaway perfection.
