Whether you’re planning one last summer escape, an autumn city break or are just stocking up on travel-sized products for your new fall carry-all, a petite dry shampoo is a beauty essential. Hair-refreshing sprays are great for taking your style from day to night when you don’t have time to wash, blow-dry and style—and if you have thin locks that could use a lift, dry shampoos are perfect for thickening roots and volumizing hair. Of course, water-less cleansers can work for thick hair too, just spray sparingly and finger comb through.
For fall, dry shampoo can help you get the big, fun, fluffy hair seen on the Marc Jacobs and Bottega Veneta runways (watch our Beauty Decoder, Hannah Johnson, show you how in our step-by-step video). A few spritzes of powdered shampoo will add texture and of course, volume, to major curls. (See our Fall Beauty Trends for more hair inspiration.)
For a delicious scent, try: Cake Beauty’s Satin Sugar dry shampoo in two limited-edition scents, Jet Set, a light coconut and City Chic, a fresh mango. The Canadian company is known for its delectable fragrances. Both are available in stores at Murale
and Sephora until September 30.
For curly hair, try: DevaCurl No-Poo Quick Cleanser. The funny name makes reference to the fact that while the product refreshes like a dry shampoo, it’s actually more a dry conditioner, adding shine and hydration while it absorbs and banishes extra oil. $9 for 1.5 oz., available at sephora.ca.
For coloured hair, try: Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder. While this hair powder can be used to coordinate with any hair hue—natural or not—it’s recommended as a quick root touch-up fix between colour appointments. Just blend away those greys with a little coloured powder. Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder comes in Brown, Blondish, Black and White (for white, silver and platinum hair). $19 for 1 oz., available at Sephora.ca.
