What inspired you to write “Check, Please: Dating, Mating and Extricating” ?
“It was a trilogy that I had to complete for my source of contentment. I figured out what worked in the world of dating through all of my [dating] experiences and I wanted to write an unadulterated book to help others out there. People have these expectations of what a cosmopolitan life should be like and it’s just not the case! I think my book can help men and women alike.”

What dating rule do you always follow?
“The only dating rule that I follow is listening to ‘the whisper’. I explain it in detail in the book but listening to the whisper means [trusting] your gut instinct, the God-like voice that that tells you when something is right or when it’s not. If you listen to your whisper you will never to be steered wrong.”

What dating rule do you sometimes break?
“Not listening to the whisper and not [following] to my own advice.”

What are your dating regrets?
“I let myself fall in love with the wrong guy. It wasn’t the guy actually. It was the fantasy of him and of the relationship that I was in love with. I didn’t realize it at the time that I had the two concepts confused.”

What advice would you give to women who are ‘unlucky’ in love?
Put it out there. Go to places where your ‘type’ of guy will hang out – whether it’s a golf course, Mercedes Benz dealership or dog park. Figure out your interests and you will find your best match by doing so.”

What novels can we look forward to in the future from you?
“More romantic novels. I will keep on writing and hopefully helping others through my own experiences.”

What book do you recommend as a must-have read?
“My first book of course, “No Lifeguard on Duty”. I think everyone should read it. It’s a great cautionary tale on life, love, family – and a glimpse into the world of fashion and celebrity.”
