Q: I’m dying to play matchmaker, but my friend keeps resisting. How can I convince her I’ll do a good job of setting her up?
A: I’m sure she knows you’ll do a good job. After all, you know her well and you’re looking out for her best interests. But maybe she doesn’t want to be set up. It can sometimes be an uncomfortable or awkward situation, or maybe she just loves flying solo right now. Leave her be.

Q: My boyfriend of six years won’t tell me his email or banking passwords. Why doesn’t he trust me?
A: It’s not a matter of trust, it’s a matter of keeping some things to yourself. Not everything has to be free-for-all. If your relationship is fine otherwise, let it go. If trust and secrets are ongoing issues, that needs to be addressed separately.
