Ask Miss Wild
Our resident relationship expert answers your toughest romantic questions

Q: I’ve met someone great who I want to spend the rest of my life with, but I’m a commitment-phobe. I just can’t bring myself to stay in the relationship when I know it’s serious and I know I want it to last forever. I keep running away. What can I do?

A: You’ve got to make a decision about your future: Do you want a life partner or do you want to live la vida solo? (Nothing wrong with being on your own, btw.) If you want a life partner at some point (whether it’s this person or someone else), you’ve got to learn to stay in a relationship and deal with your problems and your fears.

Q: My husband doesn’t take me out to dinner anymore. I don’t care if we share the same bank account. I feel like he should still treat me.

A: Treat you in what way? Do you want him to pay for occasional things (flowers, dinners) out of his pocket, separate from your joint account? Or do you want him to make romantic gestures by asking you what you’re doing on Friday night or wrapping you in a blanket when you’re watching TV? No matter what it is you desire, just let him know. Ask and you WILL receive.
