Ask Miss Wild
Our resident relationship expert answers your toughest romantic questions

Q: My boyfriend wants to take a break. Does this mean we’re through?

A: Maybe. And maybe not. A break can mean he has no guts and can’t think of another way to break up with you. Or it can mean he needs time to reflect on the relationship and wants to be with his thoughts. Do you really want to be put on hold? Put him on the spot and find out exactly what his goal is with the break. Then you take the reigns and tell him where you stand.

Q: I’ve been in love with my best friend for the past four years. I’d like to tell him what I feel but I can’t figure out how to do it without ruining our friendship. Is there any hope?

A: There’s a chance he already knows that your feelings are deeper than friendship. There’s also a chance he feels the same way. But, and I think you know where this is going, what if he doesn’t? A best friend is a sacred relationship. And if you throw love into the mix (especially when it may not be reciprocated), you’re bound to rock the boat. Do you want to risk ruining your friendship? Is there really no one else you’ll ever fall in love with? I say get over your feelings and leave it be.
