As the iconic fashion house only continues to grow under the creative direction of Sarah Burton, it has been announced that Alexander McQueen will be putting out its first fragrance in over eight years. This time, McQueen will develop scents for both men and women under a new partnership with P&G Prestige, one of the largest perfume makers in the world. Seeing an area of opportunity for the much-loved fashion label, P&G Prestige vice president Luigi Feola told WWD, “We believe it’s probably the most prominent brand that is not yet playing in the luxury beauty market.”
While few details about the deal and pending perfume have released, there is plenty of anticipation and speculation around what the products will look and smell like. Unconfirmed rumors of an upcoming colour cosmetic line have also spread online, although this might just be wishful thinking from beauty bloggers. While the fragrance’s launch date is still undetermined, we can only expect the perfume and accompanying bottle will be powerful and provocative to compliment the haunting beauty and artistry of McQueen’s label.
