If your smile makes others smile, it may have more to do with your lovely cheeks than your pearly whites. And we’re not talking cheekbones here, this is about adorable apples, where blush is best applied. To find the apples of your cheeks, Jarman says to smile at yourself in the mirror and look for the full, round apples near the centre of your face. Contrary to popular belief, bronzer—not blush—should be used for that sculpted cheekbone look. “Blush is perfect for creating that supple, young and fresh-flush to the face,” says Jarman. And you get that look by focusing on the apples.
Place blush directly on the apples of the cheeks with a medium-sized brush. If your brush is too big, your placement may look muddy and imprecise, says Jarman. For rounder faces, she recommends applying blush to the apples then blending a little further towards the hairline. “This will give you a bit of contour as well as a youthful glow and flush.”
