We’ve seen her confident, loveable side during Nick’s season of The Bachelor, and we caught a glimpse of her cute, giggly side during her latest interview with Ellen (which, if you haven’t seen it yet, is a group date!). But now we’re seeing a whole new side to to our newest Bachelorette babe—an edgier side—and we. are. OBSESSED.
The Bachelorette Season 13 trailer is a far cry from the “flirty, fun and ready for love” vibes that the franchise usually feeds us. Instead, it’s riddled with ’tude and shows Rachel as the #boss babe she really is, reminding us all that she means business. And even though her season doesn’t premiere for another month (May 22 on City, you guys!!) her newest promo—which is basically just 30 seconds of pure sass—has given us confirmation that it’s going to be killer.
The quick clip, which is set to Fifth Harmony’s “That’s My Girl,” starts with the Dallas attorney stepping onto the scene in strappy heels and an over-the-top red gown, custom made for her by Randi Rahm of course. And it only takes about five seconds to realize this isn’t your usual Bachelorette promo. Instead of shooting the camera a flirty smile or one of those fake, girly laughs that seem to be a Bachelor promo requirement, she throws the camera a few intense glares and some MAJOR shade. And instead of stopping to smell the roses, like literally every single past Bachelorette has done in her trailer, Rachel looks down at her rose (with disgust written all over her face), aggressively throws it to the ground and crushes it with her heel, absolutely destroying it. It was exhilarating to watch, TBH. Maybe she was using creative visualization (a.k.a. picturing the rose as Nick’s head) or maybe she was giving us a preview of what she’s going to do to these guys’ hearts. Either way we’re loving this sassy side of Rachel and we can’t wait to see more of it!
