London-based designer, Matthew Williamson, has taken the plunge into bridal after testing the waters with his wedding dress capsule collection for Net-a-Porter last year.
Williamson has plenty of experience with wedding dresses, having designed custom made gowns for his sister, his best friend and more notably, Kelis for her wedding to rapper, Nas. And though Kelis asked for a dress the colour of green grapes, Williamson opts for more traditional shades of white in his 12-piece collection.
From relaxed ivory maxi-dresses to flirty, feathered cocktail length gowns, Williamson offers his own unique interpretation on many classic shapes. Favouring flowy fabrics, statements skirts and plunging necklines, many of these looks would cater perfectly to destination weddings. And for more daring brides, Williamson is also offering accessories, such as jewel-encrusted fur shrugs to complete your look on the big day.
The collection wholesales for $1400 to $3300 USD and may be shown at a trunk show on April 9 at his Meatpacking District flagship store in New York.
