Not only do plastic bags ruin even the most winning ensembles, they scream carelessness towards the environment. Thankfully, the totes from Fleabags designers (and flea-market addicts) Shira Entis and Alex Bell are sturdier than flimsy disposable bags and green-minded to boot. Like all bags in the collection, the dapper Original Flea style is handmade in New York with locally sourced materials. Using re-purposed vintage details and vegetable-tanned leathers, all the bags are silk-screened using water-based ink, then sewn into large, lightweight carryalls. The heritage-appeal of leather-trimmed canvas in throwback hues like saddle and pebble make Fleabags a stylish choice. Each bag is printed with a limited-edition number, ensuring they won't become ubiquitous like other Not-A-Plastic-Bag options.
