Each January, Windfall, a Toronto-based new-clothing bank, holds their Wear White for Windfall initiative, asking everyone to wear white and make a $4 donation to the charity. It’s an awareness-raising initiative as well as a boost to Windfall’s programs, which include providing clothing for work, winter coats and kids’ clothing, as well as employment workshops.

This year, the date is Thursday, January 27. If you need to get some white pieces for your wardrobe (if this isn’t enough of a reason, white is also a huge spring trend), H&M is holding a shopping night at their Bloor Street store on Wednesday night (details here) that nets you 15 per cent off your purchases and directs 15 per cent of the evening’s sales to Windfall.
