Blake Lively, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Beckinsale, Dakota Fanning – many of Hollywood’s top style setters love to wear Marchesa for their red carpet appearances. Today Marchesa’s designers, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig present at New York Fashion Week, and the pair have announced their first ever runway show in Canada on April 5, 2011.

The pair will be coming to Toronto for an exclusive gala fashion show and black tie dinner at the invitation of Suzanne Rogers. (Note: FLARE is part of the Rogers group of companies, and I’m honoured to be the event co-chair.) Proceeds of the event – Suzanne Rogers Presents Marchesa – will benefit the Herbie Fund which provides financial support for children around the world to receive surgical treatment at SickKids Hospital in Toronto. Several other children’s charities will also receive funding from the evening. This gala fundraiser follows the tremendous success of Suzanne Rogers’ first benefit in April 2010 featuring Oscar de la Renta. More than $750,000 was raised that evening for children’s charities.

The event will take place at the Carlu. More news to follow!
