Safe or predictable weren't two words that came to mind when I was viewing the spring runway shows. Despite a difficult retail climate (or maybe in spite of!) designers took off on a quirky path. Instead of easy separates, they dished up madcap prints, clashing colours and offbeat silhouettes in everything from suits to OTT ballgowns. Everything was topped off with fabulous hair and makeup, plus eye-popping accessories. The effect was spectacular. Whittling the fantasy pieces (some fabulous, others freaky) down to ten wasn't easy...but it was a blast trying!
