Elizabeth Law had no idea she had fashion in her future when she completed her business degree and embarked on a trip to see her fashion businesswoman aunt in Hong Kong. But the visit, in which she accompanied her aunt on buying trips to Europe and Milan Fashion Week, convinced her that the fashion industry was her calling. The Vancouver based designer eventually made her dream reality by launching Wise and Proper in 2006, a line reflecting west coast living - playful, versatile, and casual, yet polished. Law’s fresh take on cashmere sweaters – the hand embroidered detailing make the sweaters more funky than frumpy - earned her loyal devotees. Since then the collections have diversified, with feminine blouses, soft cotton sundresses, and fitted jackets becoming must-haves for west coast darlings.
