This line of accessible couture-like pieces is the fashionista’s answer to the economic downturn. Clean elegant lines, mix and match styles, and sophisticated cuts means that these classic pieces never go out of style. The Montreal-based designer launched her self-titled line in 2004 after studying fashion at LaSalle College and spending time in London and Berlin, where the concept for the collection took shape. Dumaine’s exquisite tailoring is apparent in her signature blazers, which pop up in modified forms for each season. But fans need not worry about sacrificing uniqueness for staple fashion - her expertly draped jumpsuits, fitted blouses, skinny pants, and patterned shift dresses out for summer 2009 are not without ample personality.
