From stringing together beaded necklaces for a garage sale to selling her wares at Holt Renfrew, this Ottawa-based jewelry designer’s rise to prominence is fairy-tale worthy. McClintock began making jewelry as a hobby that blossomed into a booming business within a year. Using semi-precious stones, sterling silver, Swarovski crystals, and antique silver coins, McClintock crafts bold, versatile necklaces, bracelets, and earrings that are sophisticated while still being fun. It’s McClintock’s use of color – her stones incorporate rainbow hues from cherry red to deep indigo that, along with her selection of chunky stones, has become her defining style. In 2008, three years after her line’s inception, the designer launched a mid-range weddings and celebration collection showcasing more elegant styles, like the gorgeous sterling link necklace with violet and Swarovski crystals, amethyst, and Mother of Pearl dangling stones.
