Mixing an urban cowboy aesthetic with a too-cool Brooklyn scenester
vibe, this self-taught jewelry designer has quickly become known for
her trademark pyramid stud earrings, delicate gold rings, and edgy
leather cuffs. Nichol debuted her collection for the fall 2008 season,
after moving to New York City from Toronto, where she gained her
fashion cred as a buyer and designer for Club Monaco. Fans like
Scarlett Johansson and Elizabeth Jagger quickly fell in love with
Nichol’s ability to intersperse her tough, rocker chic look with
feminine details, like pearls and heart-shaped pendants, the
contradiction becoming a defining brand feature. Fall 2009 saw the
addition of Nichol’s debut bag collection featuring a fringed saddle
bag, Italian leather pieces, and lots of chains and spikes.
