The cool kid in Montreal’s fashion scene, Gravel’s “street-meets-chic”
collections appease both girly girls and tomboys alike and have been
snatched up by Quebec department store Simons, along with boutiques
nationwide. Gravel studied at Richard Robinson Academy of Fashion in
Ottawa and worked for well-known designers Georges Levesque, Kevin
Alwood (Nevik) and Kathleen Kovats before launching her own line in
2001. Recent collections showcased delicate, vintage-style dresses like
“Lucy”, flouncy skirts like “Pick Nick”, and sexy “tuniques” like
“Lemon Incest” embellished with a subtle butterfly grazing the neckline
and scalloped edges. Skinny pants, fitted jackets, and bolero-style
sweaters also peppered the collection, and can be incorporated into
your fall wardrobe easily.
