Since opening its doors in Vancouver’s Gastown in 2006, Obakki has
reflected the vibe of the in-flux city – rustic but luxurious, trendy
but distinctive, relaxed but refined. Founder Treana Peake created the
brand to showcase Canadian design talent and her efforts have been
rewarded, with recent exposure for the men’s line in New York and
coverage in fashion industry bible Women’s Wear Daily.
Loosely draped dresses and gathered silk tops in pastel hues silk
characterize the women’s collection, while the smaller men’s line
features understated, structured jackets and thin-legged trousers. And
with everything designed and manufactured locally you know that Obakki
is more than just a fashion label, but also a smart business model.
