Grotesque beauty lives in this unisex jewelry line from Montreal designer Mireille Boucher. After attending jewelry design school, Boucher launched Harakiri in 2002, quickly getting noticed after accessorizing a show at Montreal fashion week. Since then Harakiri has been a regular on the runway, accessorizing for several Denis Gagnon runway shows. Boucher uses nature as her inspiration, reproducing feathers, mouse and bird skulls, and fish vertebrae in sterling silver, yellow, or rose gold using a casting method. Signature pieces, like the dangling wing duo necklace, the big feather necklace, and the crowned pearl pendant can be both elegant and edgy, a dualism found in many Harakiri pieces.
