Returning to Montreal after 20-years in Paris, designer Helmer Joseph has earned nods of approval from fashion editors for his Canadian brand of haute couture launched in 2007. The collection is defined by his meticulous attention to detail – imaginative embroidery, elaborate gowns, and artfully constructed coats. Runways standouts have included his line of patchwork dresses, tailored pencil skirts, and a-line coats adorned with ruffles, revealing an eclectic assortment of influences from multiculturalism to classic Chanel. Joseph can thank the City of Lights for his diverse fashion experience, where he not only worked with fashion greats like John Galliano, Karl Lagerfeld, and Marc Jacobs, but also gained experience in theatrical costume making and bridal couture.
