Last night the stars came out for the 44th Annual Country Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee and proved that country folk sure can work the red carpet. Miranda Lambert was the night’s big winner, taking home the award for top female vocalist and album of the year, but it was her red carpet getup that really stole the show. The country newbie was a magenta marvel in a custom gown by Sherri Hill that beautifully accentuated her curves.

Although Lambert took home top honours, it was Gwyneth Paltrow who gave the most memorable performance both on and off the red carpet. The Oscar-winning actress proved that she belongs among Nashville’s shiniest stars, stepping out in a one-shoulder ombré Atelier Versace gown before making her country music singing debut, in support of her new film Country Strong. The blonde beauty wowed in the show-stopping gown, complete with a thigh-high slit to show off her gorgeous gams. On hand to cheer on her country crooning co-star, Leighton Meester also took Nashville by storm. The Gossip Girl star looked stunning in a draped tropical print Emilio Pucci spring ’11 dress, expertly paired with Jimmy Choo platform heels.

No stranger to the Nashville music scene, Taylor Swift looked red-hot in a Monique Lhuillier strapless gown. The lady in red looked far more mature than her ripe age of twenty in this custom gown with a sky-high slit gathered at the waist.

Fellow Nashville resident Nicole Kidman also came out to support her hubby Keith Urban and looked dazzling in a Dolce & Gabbana spring ’11 dress. Lovely in lace, the actress mastered one of fall’s hottest shoe trends, spicing up her look by adding a pair of ruby red L’Wren Scott heels.
