We shot Mendes on February 13, nearly five months ago. People claims the actress is seven months along. You do the math!

FLR05_Eva1ON WHY SHE HATES SKINNY JEANS:
“I’m always in dresses, in skirts—I think they’re so easy. People are always saying, ‘I love jeans, they’re so casual and easy,’ but I think jeans aren’t easy. They’re my worst nightmare.”

ON WEARING BODY-CON:
“It’s not that I’m against body-conscious clothes: I have worn them on the red carpet or out, but when I’m photographed in them, I always regret it. For me, it’s always been the easy way out. When I wear something a little more revealing, I think, Oh, gosh, I should have been more creative… [And] I don’t like when it’s just me and I’m not working. I don’t like feeling like I’m on display… [But] my mother always says she wants to see me in more fitted things! She’s always saying, ‘Show off your body, it’s not always going to be like this!’”FLR05_Eva3ON HER MOTHER’S RED-CARPET CRITIQUES:
“She’s usually on the money. If she doesn’t like something, I can usually see why: it didn’t photograph well or looked weird around the waist.”

ON CHOOSING WHAT TO WEAR:
“It’s an important part of my day, what I choose to wear and put out there in the world. I also have to remember that I probably will be photographed at the gas pump.”

FLR05_Eva2ON HER SHOPPING M.O.:
“When I go shopping, I know what I’m looking for. I have this thing that takes over. Honestly, I don’t find it as fun with friends because I don’t like to talk when I’m on the hunt.”

ON HER FAVOURITE FILM ACTRESSES:
“[When I was young,] I’d choose the film based on the women who spoke to me on the cover. I remember being drawn to those women. They were so exotic, darker, with larger features, bigger noses. Maybe it was because I could identify with them more than the stars who were popular. Twenty years ago, I’m not sure that there were many popular stars who looked like that.”

FLR05_Eva4ON HER SEXY TEEN STAGE:
“When I was 15, nothing could be short enough. I had to have those little shorts, those little crop tops.”

ON HER FAVOURITE RED-CARPET DRESS OF ALL TIME, THE RED GUCCI SHE WORE TO THE 2011 TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL PREMIERE OF LAST NIGHT:
“I usually stay away from red because it can be too va-va-voom and too much of a statement. But because this was chiffon, it just felt so right. It was an orangey kind of red, and it had long sleeves, went to the floor and had a high neck. I could live in a dress like that. It’s just so comfortable and romantic, and more indicative of my real style.”

ON HER LOVE OF HEAD-WRAPS:
“They’re an easy way for me to feel pulled together, even when I’m not. Some kind of scarf or a mini-turban situation. That finishes a not-so-great outfit and polishes up the look a bit.”

ON WORKING WITH MIUCCIA PRADA ON HER PLACE BEYOND THE PINES PREMIERE DRESS:
“Ms. Prada wanted my input. The dress felt really ladylike. We came up with something really sweet, simple and elegant, colourful and easy.”
