HBO’s The Sopranos has always made a habit of throwing shockers our way. The most endearing mobster’s daughter ever to grace the small screen, Meadow Soprano, continues to keep that tradition alive with her trademark high-maintenance histrionics in the show’s sixth season (currently on The Movie Network and Movie Central). Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who’s been playing the role since she was 16 (she’s turning 25 on May 15), says she counts her lucky stars that she got the chance to have a fictional father who also happens to be a “cold-blooded killer.”

Having watched Meadow grow from a cute but restless teenager to a jaded college student over the past eight years, there isn’t a whole lot that fans of The Sopranos don’t know about Tony’s daughter. But what about this? Meadow’s middle name is Mariangela.

And Sigler herself? How about the fact that she’s not Italian at all but the daughter of a woman who escaped from Cuba? And what about the money question: how much of Meadow is in Jamie-Lynn? “We have nothing in common other than our love for family,” says the Manhattan resident.

Fans of Meadow have to make peace with the fact that the show will be whacked for good early next year, but fans of Sigler have more to look forward to beyond that last episode.

Slated to appear in the horror flick Dark Ride, the comedy It’s Under My Skin, as well as I Remember, a thriller, Sigler says she’ll be selective when considering any future TV projects due to the inevitable comparisons that would be drawn. But here’s an idea: what about a Sopranos movie? “As long as the cast and crew are there, I’d do Sopranos anything,” she says. And we’d all be there watching.
